CADLite Library Enhancement

This Project involved Product enhancement using Dr. DWG expertise. The aim of this project was to read the TTF files and provide complete data such that it could be zoomed and viewed from different angles.

The Problem
Fujitsu Corporation, one of the biggest companies in Japan, needed to read and write DWG files from their CAD software products. In addition they also needed to read and display True Type Fonts (TTF).

Dr. DWG's Solution
Dr.DWG provided this as a Font Library.Additional support is provided by MS Windows for True Type font read, as required in CAD packages. Dr. DWG developed parsing routines which would handle any TTF file - including big font (Japanese /Chinese / Korean) files, which have composite glyphs.

Four types of tables had to be handled which map various characters to their data. Using an API interface, this data necessary for building characters such as glyphs, contours, character spacing, starting points etc. were given out. An application was written which would take this data, and draw the contours. The contours were drawn using lines and 2nd order bezier curves. The Library was tested using a set of Japanese TTF files too apart from normal fonts. This library along with Dr.DWG Library is an integral part of Fujitsu's CAD packages.

Technology
The technologies used were Dr.DWG Library and TTF files.
